You come into the Department of Unknowns meeting room and there is a packet on the table.

Inside the packet you discover a very old map of Echocondria and it’s surroundings. On the map are five gears that seem to be turning slowly on the page. There is also a note that says:

Occurrence 1: Steam and Cog Inn

At the steam and cog inn if players ask around for a bit about a map, treasure, riddle, ect. Teassouat hears them and approaches them. He tells them there is a secret under the Inn and he’s been trying to figure it out for years. He’s surprised you know anything about it.

When attempting to investigate around the inn you must avoid drawing too much attention to yourselves. If you get notice count hits 3 or more then you are caught and thrown out. You can try another day. If you are kicked out 3 or more times then you are barred for life.

Mind Check of 65+ to search successfully and discover the gear is under the Inn.

Mind Check of 85+ you realize it is probably located in a storage closet.

In storage Closet

🎲

There are a lot of boxes and barrels of food and drink mixes and various herbs. There are no tools around to help break the floor.

Strength Check of 65+ to break the ground

You need to break the ground 5 times to break a hole. Make sure not to make too much noise.

Each hit when the noise level is low or moderate will draw attention.

In the Hole

You need something to help you climb down a total of 18 units

An agility check of 50 to not slip. Slipping 3 times makes you fall to the bottom taking 1d6 damage per unit.

A character with flying can fly down without needing checks or a rope.

At the bottom it is very dark, even the light from above seems oddly dim.

With lighting you notice a box in the bricks of what appears to be an old well.

Strength check of 65+ to pull the box out.

The box seems to be locked, but the lock seems welded shut.

To fly out with the box will require a Strength check of 60+ to keep hold of it. Three fails and the box drops to the bottom. It does not break.

Climbing with the box in one hand and the rope in the other requires an agility 75+ and a strength check of 60+. If either fail the box drops.

If there is someone to pull you out with a rope, all characters holding a rope roll a strength check and add them together for a strength check of 120+

Inside the box is a rusty cog of about 12 inches in diameter.

Occurrence 4: The Forest

The fourth gear is hidden in a dense, mechanical forest where trees are made of gears and cogs. The players must survive the perils of the forest, including clockwork predators and malfunctioning machines, to find the gear within an ancient, forgotten temple.

Occurrence 5: The City Sewers

The final gear resides in the labyrinthine sewers of a bustling steam city. The players must navigate through toxic sludge, outmaneuver rival treasure hunters, and uncover the gear’s location in the depths of the city's underbelly.
